Colorless, low-viscosity liquid with a terpene-like odor. Slightly soluble in water. It is miscible with many organic solvents. Form azeotrope with some polar solvents such as water, methan ol, ethanol, etc. It has a mild anesthetic effect.
Application:
MTBE used as a gasolin e additive to increase the octane number, and can also be cracked to produce isobutlene, used as a gasolin e additive, with excellent anti-knock properties. It has good miscibility with gasolin e, little water absorption and no pollution to the environment. As a raw material for organic synthesis, high-purity isobutylen e can be produced
