1, 4-naphthoquinone, yellow crystal, melting point: 119-122 °C, mainly used in the synthesis of pesticide fungicides and dye intermediates.
Also known as alpha-naphthoquinone. Yellow crystal. Has a distinctive smell of ben zoquinone. Flash point 141°C. It is insoluble. Density 1.422. Melting point 126~128ºC. When the temperature exceeds 100ºC, it sublimates, slightly soluble in water and gas oline, easily soluble in ethanol when heated, soluble in ether, chlor oform, benzene, glacial acetic acid and carbon disulfide. It breaks down and explodes when heated strongly. It evaporates with steam. Used to make dyes, drugs, fungicides. It is prepared by oxidation of 1-amino-4-naphthol.
