Ferrocene is an organic transition metal compound with aromatic properties. Its chemical formula is Fe(C5H5)2. It is an orange powder with a camphor odor at room temperature. Melting point 172ºC-174ºC, boiling point 249ºC, above 100ºC can sublimate; Insoluble in water, organic solvents.
It is chemically steady and poisonousness, not reacting with acid, alkali and ultraviolet. It doesn't decompose until 400°C. Mixed with Ferrocene, the diese oil can be preserved for long use.
Ferrocene can be used as a rocket fuel additive, a curing agent for rubber and silicone resin, and also as a UV absorber. Ferrocene is a metal-organic compound with a sandwich structured as a catalyst and anti knock additive for energy conservation, smoke reduction, and combustion assistance: it can be used in various fuels such as diese, heavy oil, coal, etc.
