It is a white crystalline solid with a slight fishy odor.
Cetylpyridine chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt obtained by reacting hexadecylpyridine with hydro chloric acid. It has good solubility, stability, and biological activity.
Application:
1. Disinfectant: Cetylpyridine chloride has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect and can be used to disinfect surfaces, utensils, and water quality. It is widely used in medical, food processing, and household cleaning fields.
2. Personal care products: Cetylpyridine chloride can be used to prepare personal care products such as mouthwash, chewing gum, oral cleansers, etc., which have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and astringent effects.
3. Textile finishing: Cetylpyridine chloride can be used for post finishing of textiles to improve their antibacterial, anti mold, and anti moth properties.
4. Feed additive: Cetylpyridine chloride can be used as a feed additive to improve the antibacterial, antiviral, and antioxidant properties of feed, and promote the growth of livestock and poultry.
