N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) cocamide (N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) cocamide) is a nonionic surfactant synthesized through the reaction of coconut acid and diet hanolamine. Its chemical formula is C11H23CON(CH2CH2OH)2 and its molecular weight is 287. This compound appears as a light to amber viscous liquid, has good solubility in water, and has excellent functions of foaming, stabilizing foam, penetrating decontamination and resistance to hard water.
N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl)cocamide is a nonionic surfactant with no cloud point and can be compatible with a variety of surfactants. When the anionic surfactant is acidic, the thickening effect is particularly obvious when combined with it. Therefore, it can be used as a detergent, additive, foam stabilizer and foam booster in the manufacture of shampoos and liquid detergents. In addition, it can also be used in fine chemical industries such as modified alkyd resins, textile auxiliaries, liquid detergents, surfactants, chemical auxiliaries, etc., to prepare soap, and as a source of long-chain alkyl groups.
