Molybdate has low toxicity and low environmental pollution, making it a widely used new type of water treatment agent. In order to achieve better sustained release effect, molybdate is often used in combination with polyphosphate, gluconate, zinc salt, and benzotriazole. This not only reduces the amount of molybdate used, but also improves the corrosion inhibition effect. After compounding, the amount of molybdate is reduced from 200-500mg/L to 4-6 mg/L. During the process of molybdate film formation, dissolved oxygen must be present, without the need for calcium ions (or other divalent metal ions). Molybdate salts have high thermal stability and can be used in circulating water systems with high heat flux density and local overheating. Sodium molybdate can be used as a precipitant, catalyst, and molybdenum salt in the production of alkaloids, inks, fertilizers, molybdenum red pigments, and sun resistant pigments. It can also be used as a metal inhibitor in the production of flame retardants and pollution-free cold water systems. It is also used as a zinc plating, polishing agent, and chemical reagent.
