HEDP is a scale inhibitor and corrosion inhibitor for boiler and heat exchanger, a complexing agent for cyanamide free electroplating, a soap chelating agent, a cleaning agent for metal and non-metal. As a water treatment agent, HEDP has stable structure and is not easy to hydrolyze. HEDP is a cathodic corrosion inhibitor, and its corrosion inhibition rate is about 4 times higher than that of inorganic polyphosphate. Iron ion in water has a significant effect on the corrosion inhibition of HEDP. When the iron ion concentration is greater than 3mg/L, the corrosion inhibition of HEDP decreases exponentially with the increase of iron ion concentration. HEDP has synergistic effect with other corrosion inhibitors and scale inhibitors, such as chromate, polyphosphate, molybdate, silicate, nitrite, zinc salt, polycarboxylate and its derivatives, and can improve drug efficacy. The dosage is low, and the dosage used in the composite formula is generally 2 ~ 5mg/L.hen built together with other water treatment chemicals, it shows good synergistic effects.

Application:

HEDP is used as scale and corrosion inhibition in circulating cool water system, oil field and low-pressure boilers in fields such as electric power, chemical industry, metallurgy, fertilizer, etc.. In light woven industry, HEDP is used as detergent for metal and nonmetal. In dyeing industry, HEDP is used as peroxide stabilizer and dye-fixing agent; In non-cyanide electroplating, HEDP is used as chelating agent. The dosage of 1-10mg/L is preferred as scale inhibitor, 10-50mg/L as corrosion inhibitor, and 1000-2000mg/L as detergent. Usually, HEDP is used together with polycarboxylic acid.
