It is a colorless or light transparent liquid, soluble in water and easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Glutaraldehyde is commonly used as a bactericide, food industry processing aid, disinfectant, tanning agent, wood preservative, pharmaceutical and polymer synthetic raw material, etc. It has the characteristics of broad spectrum, high efficiency, low toxicity, safe use, low corrosivity and good stability. It can kill bacteria, fungi and spores. In practical applications, glutaraldehyde can quickly penetrate into the surface of the items being disinfected, come into contact with microorganisms and play a role. In addition, glutaraldehyde has certain safety to the human body and the environment. During operation, it is still necessary to wear protective equipment and avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.
