Solvent: Due to its good solubility, isobutyl alcohol is widely used as an organic solvent in industry. It can be used to dissolve resins, paints, coatings, inks, and adhesives.
Intermediate in chemical reactions: Isobutyl alcohol serves as an intermediate in the synthesis of various chemicals. It can participate in esterification, etherification, and acylation reactions to produce compounds such as plastics, fragrances, and pesticides.
